The rainforest is most active at the break of dawn, as the wildlife awakens. Listen the chorus of songbirds, insects and monkeys. Gunung Raya is also home to the Great Hornbill, the largest birds on the island. Discover the beauty of Gunung Raya with Jungle Walla.
Join us on a scenic drive up the summit of Gunung Raya in search of wildlife, followed by breakfast, a jungle trek and swim in the wild waters of a rainforest stream. No trip to Langkawi can be complete without experiencing our rainforest.
Itinerary:
7:00 AM – Gathering and Briefing at the Base of Gunung Raya.
Begin your morning by gathering at the base of Gunung Raya where our guide will meet you. After a short briefing by our guide we drive to the summit of Gunung Raya, the highest peak on Langkawi.
The drive takes us along the edge of a pristine rainforest. We make several opportunistic stops along the way to enjoy sunrise and to observe wildlife such as birds, primates and squirrels.
At the summit if it is not shrouded in the morning mist we will enjoy a bird’s eye view the island archipelago. Thereafter we begin the wildlife drive down to the base, where a home made breakfast await us.
9:45 AM – Breakfast
Enjoy a light breakfast at the tower house at gunung raya with a refreshing menu of Nasi Lemak, Kaya Toast, Egg Sandwiches, Coffee, Tea, and Orange Juice.
9:00 AM – Jungle trek and swim
After breakfast we take a short 5 mins drive and begin a 800 meters jungle trek. Our guides will share their knowledge of the local flora and fauna, making this a truly enriching experience. We end the trek with a refreshing swim in a jungle stream.
10:30 AM – We trek out and make the return drive to the base of gunung raya

10:45 AM – Hands-On Sun Print (Cyanotype) Workshop
Begin your adventure with a guided walk through Gunung Raya’s rich environment. As you wander, collect leaves, flowers, and other natural elements to use in the upcoming workshop. Upon returning, immerse yourself in the creative process by coating paper with a cyanotype solution and arranging your collected items. Watch your designs develop under the sun, creating stunning, one-of-a-kind prints that are yours to keep.
11:30 AM – Review and Discussion
Gather with fellow participants to review your creations. This group discussion will delve into the creative process, with insights from your nature walk and the inspiration drawn from Gunung Raya’s flora.
12:00 PM – Conclusion and Q&A
As the workshop concludes, share final thoughts on your artistic journey. Our expert instructors will be on hand for a Q&A session, helping you gain a deeper understanding of the cyanotype technique and the natural beauty of Gunung Raya.

Required moderate fitness level.
Recommended Attire: Hat, t-shirt, shorts or long pants, please wear swimwear under your attire, sun protection, covered shoes or sports shoes, towel and a change of clothes
Ensure to have water proof bag for the camera and phone.
The meeting point is at the base of gunung raya by 7.00am.
We recommend departing from your accommodation by 6.20 am to make it in time.
E-Hailing, Grab and Taxis are widely available in Langkawi.
