JungleWalla was founded in 1994 in Langkawi by naturalist Irshad Mobarak, widely recognised as the pioneer of eco-tourism in the region. Irshad introduced the first structured mangrove tours in langkawi , transforming these fragile ecosystems into world-class nature attractions while promoting conservation, responsible tourism, and environmental education.
From its beginnings as a small nature-guiding outfit, JungleWalla has grown into a respected nature tourism company known for high-quality experiences, expert guiding, and a deep commitment to preserving Malaysia’s natural heritage. Our team consists of trained naturalists and passionate educators who bring decades of field knowledge into every program.
We specialise in curated nature tours, family-friendly activities, corporate nature experiences, wildlife observation, environmental interpretation, and educational programs tailored for schools, universities, and institutions. Across all programs, our focus is consistent: reveal the beauty of the natural world, inspire appreciation, and create long-term positive impact.
Today, JungleWalla operates two branches: Langkawi, our home base and flagship location, and Desaru is our new location, where we bring the same expertise to coastal and rainforest ecosystems of Peninsular Malaysia.
