Day 1 — Rainforest, Mangroves & Mountain Peaks
Session 1: 07:30 – 11:30 (Rainforest & Mangroves)
We begin in the open rainforest corridors, an ideal environment for spotting high-activity species. Our primary targets include:
- Flowerpeckers, Hill Mynas, and Dollarbirds
- Green Pigeons, Drongos, Tailorbirds, and Babblers
- Bulbuls, Sunbirds, Woodpeckers, and Oriental-pied Hornbills
The session continues into the mangrove forests, focusing on specialized hunters: Brown-winged, Collared, and Black-capped Kingfishers, along with White-bellied Sea Eagles and Brahminy Kites.
Session 2: 15:30 – 19:30 (Wetlands & Mountains)
A visit to local village ponds reveals a variety of wetland residents, including Lesser Whistling-Ducks, Little Grebes, and Needle-tailed Swifts.
We conclude the day at Langkawi’s highest peak to witness the tour's highlight: the magnificent Great Hornbill and Wreathed Hornbill. Standing at 1.3 meters, the Great Hornbill is the island's most formidable avian sight.
Day 2 — Scrublands, Mudflats & Paddyfields
Session 1: 07:30 – 11:30 (Coastal & Plantation Birds)
Guided by the tides, we explore mudflats for Pacific Golden Plovers and Arctic Warblers. We then transition into scrublands and plantations in search of forest jewels:
- Black-hooded Orioles
- Chestnut-breasted Malkohas
- The elusive Blue-winged Pitta
Session 2: 15:30 – 19:30 (Paddyfields & Target Completion)
The final session focuses on the expansive paddyfields, home to Bitterns, White-throated Kingfishers, and various Lapwings.
This afternoon serves as a strategic "last chance" window to track any specific target species missed during previous sessions, ensuring a productive conclusion to your birding life list.

What is the fitness level and equipment required?
Average fitness is sufficient as the tour involves light walking on various terrains. We provide a pair of binoculars for each guest, but you are highly encouraged to bring your own specialized birding equipment or cameras for this 2-day session. Yes, for children aged 10 and above. To ensure a quiet environment for bird observation, all children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Is food and water provided?
We provide bottled drinking water for each guest. Meals are not included. We recommend bringing your own light snacks or discussing lunch break options with your guide during the tour.

What happens if it rains?
