For the more energetic, the Kubang Badak River offers an exciting kayaking adventure suitable for all levels, including beginners. After a brief safety session and paddling tutorial, you will board your kayak and paddle at a relaxed pace through the calm river as it opens toward the sea. Along the way, our naturalist guide will share deep insights into the mangrove ecosystem, explaining its vital role as a natural nursery while helping you spot diverse wildlife such as sea eagles, Brahminy kites, kingfishers, mudskippers, and monitor lizards.
The journey continues with a visit to a traditional charcoal kiln to learn about historic mangrove charcoal production, followed by an exploration of Pinang Cave—the remains of an ancient sea cave formed when sea levels were significantly higher. The adventure concludes at Jemuruk Island for a refreshing swim, before heading to a floating restaurant on the return journey to enjoy a delightful lunch. This immersive experience perfectly combines physical activity with an educational exploration of Langkawi’s unique coastal heritage.
